Enrichment Hour Groups and
Activities

This page lists the current groups that are meeting on a regular schedule, and a list of other activities that may occur during Enrichment Hour. Loving childcare for children 4 and younger in Religious Exploration (REx) Building room 5 with Carol Tutz.

Groups

TThe following groups meet during Enrichment Hour on a regular basis. There are other affinity groups at PBUUC who meet on other days and in other locations. The location of these activities is written on a whiteboard in the meetinghouse foyer; look for this board during coffee hour.

Handcraft Circle: Bring your handwork and join our informal circle. We're willing to teach knitting and have all the needed materials. Crocheters, embroiderers and those who do other types of handwork are welcome also. We meet in the back of the Meeting House on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Led by Marj Donn and Marie Gore.

Nature Spirituality Circle: The Nature Spirituality Circle (please note: this is a different group than the Spirituality Circle) is open to anyone who feels a reverence towards or religious connection to the natural world, whether you consider yourself "pagan" or not. Activities occasionally take place during Enrichment Hour at church but more often take place in the homes of members, on various days. Contacts: Tina Van Pelt and Cory Carter.

Poetry Out Loud: This group meets on the fourth Sunday of every month during the Enrichment Hour in the Hospitality Room of the RE Building to read poetry out loud. The meetings are open and free, and anyone is welcome to attend. All you need to bring are some poems you would like to read aloud. They may be your own or someone else's. You are welcome to attend even if you would merely like to listen to others read but do not wish to read yourself. Contact: Barbara Fairfield.

Choosing Concious Elderhood Council: Council sessions will be held on the second Sunday of each month during Enrichment Hour in Room 1 of the RE Building. All elders age 60 and above are invited to attend these sessions, where we will share our stories, our hopes, our challenges with each other. These will be based on the format of the Choosing Conscious Elderhood classes held in the Spring and Fall of 2006. It is NOT necessary for elders to have attended those classes in order to participate. Regular attendance is also not required. Contact: Barbara Fairfield

Religious Quest & Such Discussion Group: This longstanding PBUUC group is for those interested in discussing books or articles of a broadly religious, philosophical, anthropological or sociological nature -- at the leisurely pace of a chapter or two per week. They meet in RE Building Room 2 each Sunday. Newcomers are always welcome. Contact: Lowell Owens (L4owens@aol.com)

Spirituality Circle: A time for open, honest and confidential sharing of each other's spiritual journeys, including thoughts and ideas that help us on our paths. We are welcoming to newcomers. Members volunteer to lead on topics agreed upon by the group. The group meets the first and third Sundays of each month in RE Building Room 4, starting at 11:45 am and usually continuing until 1 or 1:30 pm. Contact: Amy Steiner.

The Welcome Table: The New Member Ministry Team staffs a "Welcome, Rejoice, and Come In" table in the foyer, where visitors can receive information about Paint Branch, pick up a temporary name tag, and talk with Paint Branch members. They plan to find a designated space in the foyer to set up some chairs to allow further conversation after the service and into the Enrichment Hour time. Contact: Carol Carter Walker.

Activities

This section describes events that occur during Enrichment Hour on a seasonal, irregular, or ad hoc basis.

Adult RE classes and workshops: Please refer to the current Adult RE Brochure to see which class offerings are scheduled to take place during an Enrichment Hour. The class or workshop will also be listed on the church calendar. You may send an email to ARE@pbuuc.org with questions.

Congregational and Town Hall Meetings: Know what is going on in your church. Listen to others and have your voice heard. Led by the current board of trustees.

Pageant Practice: Help our church celebrate the holidays by being a part of the pageant, singing in the pageant choir, or helping behind the scenes. Contact: David Chapman.

Reverberations: A discussion of the service theme, led by that day's worship associate or a minister.
