Pastoral Care Associates
The Pastoral Care Associates are three or four members who help meet the pastoral care needs of the congregation, with training and direction by the minister. They call or visit at home or in the hospital when church members are sick, bereaved or struggling with a life issue; and usually lead the Meditation on Joys and Sorrows in the Sunday service. During periods when the minister is out of town, they involve the on-call minister in pastoral care emergencies if any arise. They serve two-year staggered terms and meet as a group with the minister every six or so weeks for ongoing support. If you are interested in serving as a Pastoral Care Associate, please speak with the minister or one of them to learn more; they are listed in the monthly newsletter, Branches.
