Dear Paint Branchers,
As I write this, Candidating Week is less than two weeks away! I'm SO looking forward to meeting you, getting to know you, and becoming known to you!
The Search Committee is creating (envisioning as well as scheduling)—a week in which this getting to know each other will happen well. This, and all that led up to it, has been for them a labor of love for PBUUC-- for that I am deeply grateful as I am sure you are, too.
Please know that you are welcome to stop in and participate in any of the gatherings indicated on the schedule as being "hosted" by a group, even if you are not involved with that group's activities. We tried to create lots of options. Come when you are able!
Although I do want to hear about all the good that PBUUC does and understand more about how it functions, I am hoping that the conversations we have during Candidating Week will go deeper, from "doing" to "being."
I hope to talk with you along these lines: "what longings drew you to PBUUC?" and "how does being a UU at Paint Branch help you become who you are called to be?" and "how can the greatest joys of PBUUC meet the world's (locally or otherwise) greatest needs?"
I hope you will relax about meeting me. You don't need to impress me. I'm already impressed! And, for me to be uptight trying to impress you—well, that does not strike me as being very "ministerial" at all!
Let's begin our relationship—congregation and potential minister— with an open, trusting approach in mutual discovery and exploration together.
Until then, be well,
Diane
