Our co-ministers Jaco and Barbara ten Hove announced their departure in March 2008. They have accepted the call of the Cedars Unitarian Universalist Church on Bainbridge Island, Washington; an area of the country near and dear to their hearts. Our church is currently in an extended process that will end with the calling of our next settled ministry.
This area of the web site will keep the entire congregation posted during the transition to the next settled ministry here at Paint Branch. Check back often to see where things stand. Much of the search is confidential, but there are plentiful opportunities for members to provide input, and the more participation there is the more likely it is we will find a good match.
The Unitarian Universalist Association Ministerial Transition Page has useful details on how our denomination handles ministerial transitions for those who are interested in the full process.
Announcements -- most information will be on the two committee pages listed below; however important announcements to the congregation will be on this page.
Interim co-Ministers -- Paint Branch has hired Phyllis Hubbell & John Manwell as our interim co-ministers. They hold a one year contract from August 1, 2008 to July 30, 2009, with an option for the second year.
Interim Ministry Committee -- the Interim Ministry committee serves the same purpose as the Committee on Ministry does for a settled minister: to facilitate the relationship between our congregation and the interim co-ministers.
Ministerial Search Committee -- the Ministerial Search Committee is responsible for finding candidates for the next settled ministry. Eight Paint Branch members have been tasked to find the best possible match between ministers in search and our congregation. This process will culminate in Candidating Week in April 2009, where the congregation would vote on whether to call the candidate(s) at hand. In the unlikely event that no suitable candidate is found the interim co-ministers' option will be picked up and the search would continue.
Archive -- contains past announcements and other information regarding the ministerial transition.
The ministerial search survey is closed. Check here for more news.
