Paint Branch Core Staff - January, 2008

I began in the role of Director of Religious Exploration at Paint Branch in March, 2005, after a one-year term as D.R.E. for the Goodloe Memorial U.U. Congregation of Bowie, MD. I have my Masters in Education from the University of Maryland, College Park, and experience as a classroom teacher in Montgomery County Schools, and a Paraprofessional in Minneapolis Public Schools. I am also taking the UUA-sponsored Renaissance modules and beginning to work toward certification as a professional religious educator. My husband, children and I are long-time Paint Branch members, and I previously spent many yeas as an R.E. volunteer here. Coming back to Paint Branch in the role of D.R.E. is like coming home again! It is richly rewarding to be entrusted with this important work in the religious community that I love.

Rebecca Birnie joined the PBUUC staff in September in the new role asvery part-time Administrative Assistant. About a year ago Rebecca retired from her position as longtime administrator of River Road Unitarian Church in Bethesda, and her family has historic roots at Paint Branch. We welcome her presence and expertise in the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
