silent auction at PBUUC

Held each year, the PBUUC Auction is a highlight of the church calendar as well as a significant fundraiser for our congregation. We have had the auction in person and virtually during COVID.

The event features a silent auction of significant size as well as live auction where the bidding frenzy frequently takes hold of the attendees. There’s also tasty appetizers and a dessert cart, plus cash-and-carry items and child care for the younger set.

Themed dinners are generally some of the most popular offerings in the auction catalogue and the winning bids are often way above the starting bid. Many Paint Branchers bring their calendars to plan their social scene around these gatherings. Some members even donate vacation time at their own cottages—all for a good cause.

Many people donate their services, from tax filing to pet-sitting, or they donate gift certificates from their favorite local businesses. The Paint Branch minister, Worship Associates, Chalice Dancers and Choir all offer opportunities for people to buy a sermon topic or a song for a future Sunday service. Some of our musically talented friends also provide entertainment during breaks in the live auction. Reach out to the Auction Committee to add your own offerings to the catelog.

Whether you are a long-time PBUUC member or a relative newcomer, you will surely enjoy an evening of multigenerational fun at the Annual Auction.
