The Fire Archive. On December 9, 2005 an early morning fire heavily damaged one end of the Religious Exploration (RE) building. Over the next year and more, the PBUUC community not only repaired the damage, but raised the money to make substantial improvements to the RE building. This archive chronicles the journey that ended with reopening for both RE classes and for the Paint Branch Montessori School. [December 2003-February 2005]
Schiavo Statement of Conscience. In March of 2005, our Co-Ministers Jaco B. ten Hove and Barbara W. ten Hove endorsed this statement titled "Religious Leaders Call for an End to Selective Morality in Washington" regarding the tragic Terri Schiavo contraversy. [March 2005]

2006-07 News Highlights

Martin Luther King Day sermon now on Web: Reverend Paige Getty of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia and our Co-Minister Jaco ten Hove exchanged pulpits on January 14. Paige preached at PBUUC "On Being White" while Jaco was the guest at Columbia.

You can hear co-minister Jaco ten Hove reading an edited-down version of his sermon from a few seasons back, "Stars To Look At, Stars To See," on the website of the UU Church of the Larger Fellowship (CLF) (our excellent "ministry to isolated religious liberals"). They have published the essay in the current December issue of their monthly magazine, QUEST, and their website now also includes audio versions. See and hear it at the CLF site.
